I love every experience with Your Queens.

I have recommended this company and I have booked them for an event.  I will continue to support. I’m in love with the regalia, the history that is taught, the loving attitude of all members and of course Queen Eki the founder is my friend. Thank you for the opportunity to grow with your company.  I am honored to have been Crowned by Your Queens in 2018 at their 4th anniversary celebration and blessed to help out however I’m allowed. There is no other experience like an experience with your Queens.  Love, respect, pride, knowledge, stamina and gifting..YOUR QUEENS

I am a Parent Engagement Coordinator

I found out about Your Queens through their creative director, Eki Asemota.  I met Eki through a friend at Church and was informed of Your Queens a few years ago. From the initial contact to the performance every aspect of the Your Queens experience is professional and exceptional. The engaging of the audience in participating in the history lesson should be a professional development tool for educators everywhere. I have recommended Your Queens to family and other school communities. It is necessary for our children to see the greatness and history of historical Black figures as well as non black audiences to learn about the culture of Black people, it helps teachers on changing their mindsets and misconceptions of communities of the children they serve.

Lastly I am so elated to know that there is a group that lifts and empowers our youth like Your Queens. Thank you for this opportunity.

I am an Artistic Program Associate at The Public Theater

I found out about Your Queens through a friend of mine who portrays Makeda Queen of Sheba in Your Queens, My friend is a member of Your Queens. I love the outfits and the princesses. I also love to see how people light up when then learn about African royalty. Everyone leaves the space mesmerized and amazed. I love it! I would recommend Your Queens to family and friends. Your Queens brings light into spaces and is up-lifting in ways that we don’t know we need, but we do. The sharing of an African narrative that is rooted in regality, strength and tenacity is refreshing and a reminder of where Black/African people come from. It is also a reminder to all the Black people have a history beyond struggle.

Saw the group in its full glory at Dance Africa in 2015.

How great they were with children! I worked the PTA at my daughter’s school to have Your Queens come for Black History Month and they were phenomenal with children, keeping them engaged and excited. I will absolutely recommend Your Queens because art educates and is a wonderful entry point to teach people, in general. And then for what Your Queens is teaching people, it’s so necessary! I love everything this group does and I’m so grateful for the time and commitment they have to educating the masse

I'm honored and blessed to know the visionary of Your Queens. I was so excited to know that she was working on something that was bigger than she could ever imagine. As a proud PTA mom who wanted to make a difference in the lives of the children at my son's school we had to invite Your Queens. They left the children at PS 197 The Ocean School feeling empowered and I was just grateful to have been a part of it. The Queens did such an amazing job keeping the children engaged in the production. I'm amazed every time I experience a performance. I would absolutely recommend Your Queens,  The Queens always deliver an amazing production whether a wedding, school assembly or birthday party. You will not be disappointed. Your Queens have blessed so many lives and I'm so grateful to have been one of them. Thank you to the Visionary Eki for creating Your Queens. Your work is exceptional. To the beautiful souls that portray these amazing Queens I say thank you as well. What a blessing you all are.

Before the movie "Black Panther" exploded on the culture with global blockbuster success earning more than 3 billion dollars globally a New York city based organization founded by Eki Asemota called "YOUR QUEENS" was already the preview trailer and had been waiting for Black Panther's arrival. "YOUR QUEENS" designs, developes and curates a historic African narrative through spoken word, theater, and dance educating eager audiences of all ages on the true legacy and dynasty of people of African descent. I was left spellbound with my jaw agape when I attended a "Your Queens" production last Spring watching a beautiful coronation of men, women, an children cloaked in breathtaking African regalia reminiscent of those Kings and Queens who were born into barren land and built the pyramids like Nefertari, Hatshepsut, Nzinga, Makeda, Nikaula, Hannibal, Solomon, Akhenaten. An energy surge of royalty moved the through the building and I was wonderfully baptized in my cellular memory my DNA that recalled being born a QUEEN! Eki Asemota is a brilliant force and change agent in the culture and her organization "YOUR QUEENS" is a viable teaching mechanism for black positive identity!  "YOUR QUEENS" is a gift that keeps on giving and our ancestors who were raped, tortured, beaten, hanged, drowned, and left to die a wretched death in slavery are honored and redeemed with each "YOUR QUEENS" performance.
