MISSION

Your Queens, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) organization and the first registered African Royalty character company dedicated to depicting the true stories of non-fictional African Kings and Queens. Our mission is to evaluate, educate, and express the dynamic lineage of real African women and men through storytelling, song, and dance.

We are committed to establishing a cultural and educational center in Southeast Rocky Mount (The Your Queens Center for housing and arts) that will serve as a permanent space for historical preservation, youth enrichment, community engagement, and the celebration of African heritage. Through this center, we will provide immersive programming, cultural arts education, and community events that inspire pride, knowledge, and generational empowerment.

VISION

In an entertainment industry where most costumed characters are fictional, Your Queens, Inc. envisions a world where the true stories of African royalty are celebrated, honored, and widely known.

We bring to life powerful historical figures such as Queen Amina of Zaria, Queen Makeda of Sheba, Queens Cleopatra and Nefertiti, Goddess Isis, King Tutankhamun, and many more—transforming history into immersive educational experiences through storytelling, song, and dance.

Founded by dancer, teacher, designer, and entrepreneur Ekiuwa Asemota, Your Queens was created to ensure that youth and adults alike understand the beauty, brilliance, and leadership of African royal lineage. In a world challenged by injustice, racism, depression, doubt, and fear, we envision communities strengthened by cultural pride, historical truth, and artistic expression.

Through the development of our cultural center in Southeast Rocky Mount, we envision a vibrant, welcoming space where history comes alive, young people discover identity and purpose, families gather in celebration, and the legacy of African royalty is preserved for generations to come.

PURPOSE

Since 2015, Your Queens, Inc. has served more than 500 organizations, including public schools, counseling centers, colleges, art and music festivals, special events, and community institutions.

Our work has been featured by respected media platforms including Afropunk, Huffington Post, Essence, Elle Magazine, Hot 97, The Root, Apple TV, WNCR TV, CITY TV 19, and CUNY TV.

Through storytelling, song, and dance, each Queen and King adorned in regal costume shares their dynamic history while inspiring joy, building self-esteem, and strengthening confidence in every audience we serve. Our performances allow audiences to travel through time and experience the richness of African culture from Egypt, Nigeria, Congo, and Ethiopia to the broader African continent.

As we continue to grow, The Your Queens Center for Housing and Arts represents the next evolution of our work, creating a permanent home where cultural arts programming, community development, and housing initiatives operate together to uplift individuals and families in Southeast Rocky Mount and beyond.

We welcome partnerships with schools, organizations, companies, and community leaders who are committed to education, cultural enrichment, housing stability, and transformative community impact. Your Queens is available for live performances, virtual programming, interviews, press engagements, and radio and television appearances.
